In July of 2012 I attended a free demo ride that Specialized hosted at Alum Creek. I tested a few of their Specialized Stumper full suspension 29ers. I had been riding a Schwin hard tail. It was a great bike for its time but the polimer donut front suspension and hard tail jolting was just too hard to stand... especially after riding the new full suspension 29ers. That free ride day turned into a very expensive day for me.
I am quite happy with the 2012 model Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite. It it quite a bit heavier than current 26 inch hard tails but the added weight is the penalty for the ride comfort and performance. I will just have to get stronger if I want to ride comfortably.
